Under regular epidemic prevention and control, how an enterprise assumes its social responsibility, efficiently empowers employees through strategic social responsibility management and realizes its sustainable development is a highly focused topic today.

Recently, the 2020 Corporate Sustainable Competitiveness Summit & 2019 Zhejiang Excellent Corporate Social Responsibility Reports and Model Enterprises Award Ceremony were held in Hangzhou. Experts and entrepreneurs gathered to discuss corporate social responsibility.

At the meeting, four prizes for 2019 Zhejiang Excellent Corporate Social Responsibility Reports and Model Enterprises were awarded (labor practices, environmental protection, consumer rights, and community participation and development). Member companies that have made outstanding contributions to the prevention and control of new coronavirus disease were also commended. 28 units including ShouXianGu have been rated as the “2019 Zhejiang Corporate Social Responsibility Model Enterprises”. 23 companies including Alibaba, Geely Group, and ShouXianGu were granted the “Award for Outstanding Contributions in Fighting the Epidemic in 2020” at the meeting.

During the critical period of Covid-19 prevention and control, many enterprises in Zhejiang Province were proactive in donating money and materials and took measures in terms of medical treatment, materials, etc., demonstrating their awareness of social responsibility and devotion to families and the country. As the spearhead of the national battle against the virus, they have become models of epidemic prevention and control for enterprises in China and even the world.

To carry forward the spirit of selfless dedication of Zhejiang enterprises and promote the spread of awareness of performing corporate social responsibility in the society, LI Mingyan, chairman of ShouXianGu, delivered a keynote speech during the summit on “Social Responsibility of TCM Industry during the Epidemic”, making authoritative interpretation and sharing practical experience with regards to hot topics such as the battle against the epidemic and responsibilities, and social responsibility and sustainable competitiveness of enterprises.

Significant role of TCM in fighting the disease

Since the onset of the epidemic, traditional Chinese medicine has played a positive and significant role in prevention, treatment, and recovery, and has attracted unprecedented attention from all over the world. TCM diagnosis and treatment methods, Chinese patent medicines and prescriptions have been included in various versions of the national diagnosis and treatment plan and have been recommended many times. Good news about patients cured by TCM has been spreading in all parts of China.

The application of TCM in the fight against the epidemic has brought the treatment concept and plans of integrated Chinese and Western medicine. TCM has been applied in unprecedented volume and scope. Nearly 800 TCM experts and 5,000 TCM medical personnel gave treatment to patients in Wuhan. According to relevant data from the National Health Commission, 90% out of confirmed cases of Covid-19 in China received TCM treatment and total effective rate of TCM reached more than 90%.

TCM enterprise ShouXianGu has contributed to the fight against the epidemic
